Amie Davidson
Dance
Amie Davidson has shared her love of dance with students for nearly three decades. She holds a Master of Art in Dance Education from UNC-Greensboro and has taught dance to all ages from pre-k to high school.
Amie is married with two daughters. Her oldest daughter is in 7th Grade at Alexander Middle School and her youngest is a kindergartener at Selwyn Elementary. Amie started the Dance Program at Mint Hill Middle School and is happy to return to CMS this year. |
Amie Davidson siempre ha compartido su amor por la danza con todos sus estudiantes en casi tres décadas. Ella posee una maestría en Danza Educacional de la Universidad UNC-Greensboro y ha dado clases de danza para chicos desde pre-K hasta High School.
Amie está casada y tiene dos hijas. La mayor estudia el 7mo grado en Alexander Middle School y la pequeña está en kindergarten en Selwyn Elementary. Amie empezó el programa de Danza en Mint Hill Middle School y está entusiasmada de regresar a CMS este año. |

Course Description
In Dance class students will collaborate with peers to create choreography connected to specific dance techniques and history.
Dancers will practice written and verbal skills through critique of student work. Students will have the opportunity to critique their own process, their group process and class final products.
Dancers will study basic anatomy, memorize a physical dance warm up and practice proper warm up techniques beneficial at all stages of life.
Dancers will think critically when generating original ideas connected to core social studies and language arts classes.
Expectations: Students need a writing utensil each day and should be prepared to participate in movement activities every day.

Grading:
- Formal Assessments are 65% of the Dance Grade. (Tests, Quizzes, Projects)
- Informal Assessments are 35% of the Dance Grade. (Daily Participation, In Class Assignments)
